Ticket Validity

 

1. You are kindly requested  to buy your ticket or confirm your reservation within the time limits specified. If that is not done your reservation will be cancelled.

2. The passenger ticket and baggage check for an international flight issued in your name is personal and cannot be conceded to another person. Please study carefully the notes on your ticket and particularly the contract conditions and remarks and notices in it.  Your ticket is issued at a normal fare and is valid for one year as of the date of commencement of flight. If no portion of the ticket is used then it is valid for one year as of the date of issue. A ticket issued at other than the normal fare is valid for the indicated period only and is subject to the conditions of the fare applicability, stipulated on the ticket.

3. So the ticket is good for carriage for one year from the data of commencement of carriage but in case no flight coupon of this ticket was issued from the date of issue except as otherwise provided in this ticket, in carrier’s tariffs, conditions of carriage or related regulations.

 

Ticket Reservation.

4. Passengers are invited to reserve their seats well in advance. Application can be made at any airline office or travel agency. The seat may be, however, reserved only after the ticket of the respective flight has been purchased.

5. Confirmed seat is indicated in the “ Reservation Status” box of the ticket by code “OK”.

6.  Code “RQ” indicates that it was not possible to confirm the requested seat yet. If a passenger has reserved his seat in advance for the return or continuing flight, he is in some cases obliged to reconfirm his intention to use such reservation to the air-carrier at the departure point of the return or continuing flight. Failure to comply may result in the cancellation of the onward or return reservation.

7.  Should it be not possible to use the seats reserved, we ask the passengers to let us know as early as possible. Passengers cancelling  their seats too late or failing to report for departure or being insufficiently documented so that they are not allowed to travel, may be required to pay a fee which is 25% of the applicable one-way fare.

Some Rules of Carriage

 

1. Sick and invalid passenger and expectant mothers can be transported only when all conditions stipulated by the carrier are complied with.

2. Dangerous goods and articles can be carried only subject to special conditions. For safety reasons, articles or materials which are dangerous or are subject to special transport conditions may be carried only under carrier approval. These regulations apply principally to: compressed gases (flammable/non-flammable), corrosive materials, explosives, munitions, weapons, easily flammable materials, oxidizing materials, magnetized materials, radioactive materials and other restricted articles such as mercury, poisons and other materials as listed in the IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations. Sporting and hunting weapons can only be accepted as registered baggage. Weapons must be unloaded, with safety catch on and suitably packed.

3. Both our airline and travel agencies will be pleased to give detailed information concerning  the passport, visa, health and/or other regulations, nevertheless, they cannot accept responsibility for passengers being improperly or in sufficiently documented. Without proper passport, visa and health documentation as required by countries of exit, transit and entry the passenger may not be accepted for transportation.

We have discussed many aspects of ticketing and reservation. Yet we are to discuss many other important things such as free baggage allowance, checked and cabin baggage.

Free baggage allowance. In view of the limited load capacities of aircraft, the airlines operating international scheduled flights control as a rule the weight of passengers’ baggage. The international conditions of carriage allow each passenger to carry free of charge baggage to a certain weight or number of pieces, i.e. the so called free baggage allowance. Baggage should not exceed 20 kilograms tourist class or 30 kilograms first class not including carry-on baggage, i.e. that which may be taken into the passenger’s cabin as free hand baggage.

Each extra kilogram is payed for at the rate of one per cent of the cost of first-class ticket.

The checked baggage. The checked baggage is accepted by the carrier for air transportation, it should be properly packed and locked to avoid opening during ground handling and transportation. The checked baggage is carried in the cargo compartment of the airplane.

The cabin baggage. In some cases you may take in the passenger cabin a small part of your baggage, i.e. the cabin baggage. With most of the international carriers however, the weight and dimensions of the cabin baggage are strictly limited.

Some articles can be accepted for transportation only as cargo: refrigerators, washing mashines, boat engines, spare parts for cars, big quantities of articles intended for sale etc.

International Airport Passenger Services

 

Passport Control. The outgoing passengers may leave the country only if they have an exit visa and a foreign passport. The incoming passengers must have an entry visa, a foreign passport and a vaccination certificate. The visas and foreign passports should be produced to the Passport officer at the Passport control.

Customs control. At every International Airport there is a Customs Control. A passenger may carry duty free articles provided they are for personal use. Restricted articles may be imported, but in this case they are liable to Customs duty.

At the Customs Control passengers must fill in a Customs declaration and then produce it to the Customs officer, who checks the declaration and inspects the passengers’ luggage. Any article that has not been declared or produced is liable to forfeiture and the person concerned is liable to prosecution.

As for the crew it is not obligatory to fill in Customs declaration. The crew members are only asked some questions about their hand luggage which is then inspected on board the aircraft.

Some things are prohibited to be exported – weapons, narcotics, antiques and objects of art (paintings, drawings, icons, sculptures), precious metals, crude, and processed natural precious stones, valuables, etc.

If you have nothing more than the duty-free allowance and no prohibited or restricted goods go straight through the Green Channel unless asked to stop by an officer.

If you have more than the duty-free allowance listed or if you have prohibited or restricted goods go into the Red Channel and declare them to an officer.

Plant Quarantine Inspection. Any load or baggage containing seeds, bulbs, cuttings, vegetables and fruit are subject to the Plant Quarantine Inspection. A passenger must have a special licence to carry plant materials. This document should be produced to the State inspection of the Plant Quarantine Point.

Veterinary control. Transportation of animals, birds, live fish, insects and products of animal origin is under the inspection of the Veterinary Control. A passenger should have a medical certificate for animal (a dog, a cat) to carry it in the passenger cabin.
